About Us
Sam has worked in both private and public metropolitan hospitals as well as in forensic care and community-based mental health (MH) settings for the last 17 years. Sam specialises mainly in adult and forensic psychiatry and has provided a broad range of clinical and counselling talking therapies.

 

He had also worked as MH liaison clinician of people with adjustment disorders from general care setting (hospital wards or nursing home) to MH wards. Sam keeps updating his skills through different professional development trainings as a Suicide First Aider as well as the Alcohol, Smoking, and Substance, Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST) training sessions.

To enhance his role as a practitioner, Sam has been involved in a few research projects with the publication of one Original Article from his Honours Degree thesis. He remains an academic with Monash University and ACU, while pursuing his PhD of MH carers’ lived experiences of metabolic syndrome in their loved ones with severe mental illness. He is a Mentor of the undergraduate students and aspiring MH clinicians through ACN, on Leadership in their clinical practices.

 

Sam is a fully registered credentialed MH clinician with APHRA and ACMHN. He is also eligible to provide supervision service to other MH clinicians. He is fully registered with Medicare to provide psychotherapy under their Mental Health care plan and Better Access programs. He has a “fur baby” (dog) of 13 years of age, which was trained to provide pet therapy.

 

Snoopy was a rescue dog that Sam bought from Burwood RSPCA when he was 3 yrs old, and he had extensive training to do pet therapy. He passed away 2 years ago after 12 yrs of loyalty, tenderness and of fond

memories.
